We got the sad news in Dubai that Spirit of Norway will not race anymore. Also Bjørn Rune Gjelsten stop racing. Spirit of Norway 10 is sold with crew to Qatar team. Steve Curtis will race together with HE Sheikh Hassan Bin Jabor Al-Thani.
What happens with #20 boat and crew we dont know yet. Hopefully we will know what happens in 2008 next week.
Spirit of Norway will be remembered as the most sucsessfull team in Offshore powerboat racing history. And i think it will be almost impossible to beat their record.
Bjørn Rune Gjelsten is one of the most proffessional pilots in our sport and will be sadly missed on the course as a great sportsman and competitor. Hopefully he will still be around at some races. I have learn a lot from him this year.
I am proud to have joined them at their last year of racing. I also wish Gro, Steve, Rolf, Arne, Paal and Roffen good luck in the colour of Qatar 96 in 2008!
