As everyone involved in powerboat racing tries to come to terms with the tragic loss of the lives of Mohammad Al Mehairi and Jean-Marc Sanchez, competitors, team members and friends gathered at Mina Seyahi to honour their lost friends.

Source: class-1.com Maritimo 11 throttleman, Pal Virik Nilsen, was voted Norwegian Motorsport Personality of the year at a lavish ceremony last weekend in Norway, hosted by the Norwegian Motorsport Federation.

In todays morning pole position run Maritimo 11 with Tom Barry-Cotter and Pal Virik Nilsen got a good second place just less than two-tenths of a second behind the pole-setters with a lap-time of 2mins 38.90secs.

The only positive thing this weekend was that Maritimo 11 got the bronze medal in the Class-1 european championship. After a good form in the last four European races Tom and Pal got rewarded the 3rd place in the championship.

Italian GP race 2 was a really disaster in many ways. In the start Maritimo 11 with Tom and Pal got a okay start but was behind Victory 1 and Victory 77. The famous blue sandwitch did as usual in the start unfair stunts. Both Victory boats closed the door for Maritimo. Tom and Pal had to slow dow...
